Loam Bio, an Australian leader in the carbon market, is revolutionising soil carbon storage with technology that enhances the amount of carbon sequestered through a unique coating applied to plant seeds. Regarded as a pioneering force in the climate-tech and agri-tech sectors, the company merges cutting-edge microbial technology with sustainable farming practices. Its innovative approach to carbon sequestration and soil health has positioned it as one of the hottest startups globally, attracting major investors and gaining recognition for its potential to transform agriculture and combat climate change.

OBJECTIVE

In December 2023, Loam Bio partnered with RPR&Co. to announce the launch of CarbonBuilder, its fungi-based product designed to help crop farmers enhance soil carbon retention. The goal was to showcase CarbonBuilder to both Australian and global audiences. With RPR&Co.’s deep connections within ag networks, media, and influencers, Loam Bio was able to gain access to a highly targeted agricultural audience. Additionally, RPR&Co.’s diverse client portfolio—which spans sectors like lifestyle, fashion, tech, tourism, sustainability, and climate—provided Loam Bio with broader access to a wide range of media outlets.

OUTCOMES

→ In the past 12 months, RPR&Co. has secured major coverage for Loam Bio, including The Australian’s headline, “Loam Bio’s CarbonBuilder could ‘change agriculture,’” and “Aussie start up cracks US market”, which underscored the company’s impact on both farming and investment.

→ We understand that science can sometimes feel a bit “lab coat-heavy” for some media outlets, so we made sure to simplify technical concepts into engaging, accessible stories like “How an esky filled with fungi helped solve climate change…,” sparking curiosity (and getting journalists to click on the email). This approach ensured significant broadcast success, with coverage in major outlets like Yahoo News, The Daily Telegraph, SBS TV, and a wide range of ag, investor, and tech media.

→ Additional highlights include features in Graziher’s ‘Life on the Land’ podcast and print, a five-page feature in Ag Journal, Weekly Times SHINE Awards, Galah Magazine feature, and Sustainability Further podcast with Lottie Dalziel. Through interviews, lab tours with the company’s founders, scientists, and agronomists, and farm tours with growers, plus nominating Loam stakeholders for panel opportunities and Awards, we ensured comprehensive coverage throughout the year.

→ Loam Bio continued its partnership with RPR&Co. in 2025, securing a 12-month retainer to drive ongoing awareness.

The outstanding coverage and results from our first 12 months were so impressive that continuing our partnership in 2025 was a no-brainer. Not only is the team at RPR&Co. creative and fun to collaborate with, but they also consistently exceeded our expectations. Their integrity, transparency, unparalleled media relationships and unwavering dedication to our success set them apart.
